In a highly scientific experiment to see how much of a difference bicycle size can make, our founder, Marc, competed in the Barrie Triathlon last weekend riding one of our 20" wheel bikes that we recommend for children aged 6 - 8 years old. (Did we mention that he's 6' 2 and a lot older than 8 years old?)
We had a great weekend at the Toronto Triathlon Festival, culminating in a great day of racing today for the athletes, as well as a great day of riding around GroBikes' own miniature bike course for the athlete's kids!
Thanks to all of you who came by to say hello. It was great to meet you all!
We look forward to being in touch again soon.
When considering the weight of a child's bike, it is essential to do so relative to the child's bodyweight. The lighter the bike, the more fun it is. GroBikes' makes lightweight bikes affordable, supplying bikes at about the same cost as buying a series of bikes that either don't fit or are too heavy.
Bike Month runs from Monday May 29th to Friday June 30th, with lots of cool events and activities going on in and around the GTA.
Of course, our favourite is Bike to School Week, a perfect opportunity to put our own bikes to use! :-)
Check out the Bike Month website for more details: http://www.bikemonth.ca/
After a lot of work, GroBikes is finally "live", bringing to the world (well, only Toronto for now, though some might argue they're the same) a new, better way for providing children a bike riding experience that is safer (the bikes fit them from Day 1) and funerer (the bikes are not only some of the lightest on the market, but also specifically designed to suit children's changing proportions).
We are looking forward to meeting you, Toronto!
